K-12 Advisory Council Lesson Materials

K-12 Advisory Council Lesson Materials

What Are These Materials?

In cooperation with K-12 teachers, the GW East Asia NRC team has created curriculum materials to help bring pieces of information about East Asia into the classrooms. The materials engage a variety of topics across different disciplines, including history, human geography, religion, and gender studies.

Each material contains a detailed analysis of the context and the issues. All information and visuals included have Creative Commons licenses. Teachers should free feel to share and distribute the materials. Teachers are also welcome to break down the materials further, pace themselves in disseminating the information, and select parts of the materials to incorporate into their teaching agendas.

This collection is still a project in progress where the NRC team is actively seeking K-12 teachers to collaborate with to create more curriculum materials pertinent to the needs of the teachers who would like to share things about East Asia in their classrooms. For applicants of the K-12 Advisory Council, these materials are helpful in acquiring a sense of what the end product would look like.
