Model United Nations

About the Program

In Model United Nations, students learn about diplomacy and international affairs through simulating how countries and organizations interact and react to events and policies.  It also helps deepen students’ understanding of certain issues and cultivate the spirit of cooperation on international topics. Teachers are welcome to use the Model UN background information packages developed by our NRC.

Taiwan Strait Conflict

In this scenario, the President of Taiwan has announced that Taiwan will hold a non-binding national referendum in which Taiwanese citizens will vote on declaring independence.  Students will simulate how the governments of Taiwan, China, and the United States might react.
